The best vets for your best friend.....

Meet the team

Dr. Paul Hensen, BVSc, DVM, MRCVS, Practice Principal, Owner

21 years clinical veterinary experience in NZ, Australia, Bermuda, USA, UK, KSA, Qatar

Having completed his veterinary degree in 1987, Paul spent 2 years in mixed rural practice before a year of locums in the UK. The lure of a job in Bermuda led to his moving there for 9 years to work in a mainly small animal practice to a north american standard of care with some equine. Whilst here he took the opportunity to study and pass the American DVM equivalence exams and secured a license in Washington State. Almost two years of US small animal practice later the adventure of expat living saw him head to Saudi Arabia. The advent of the Iraq war and the unrest in KSA led him to briefly drive to Qatar which was then undervetted. Six months in NZ and a locum in Port Douglas later he returned to take up the team vet position for Shaqabs endurance stable and Qatar national team, with the opportunity to develop a small animal practice. In June of 2006 the chance to own and upgrade an existing practice was taken and Qatar Veterinary Center has been growing in every way since.

This was followed by a year working in an Orthopedic referral practice in Fakenham before moving to Singapore where he was senior surgeon and clinical director.

Dr. Nicola Wilson, MRCVS

UK, Qatar

After graduating with a BSc Honours degree in microbiology in 1994 from the university of Dundee I was employed as a rescue and shelter manager by Cats Protection in Norfolk, UK. Liasing with veterinary surgeons in the organisation and a keen interest in feline medicine inspired me to apply to university of Glasgow Veterinary school. I graduated in 2006 and have subsequently been employed in small animal practice in the UK. I also sat and passed the US board exams in April 2007. I completed a 5 month locum position at Qatar Vet Center in summer 2009 and returned to the clinic as an associate in 2010.
